Berytinus signoreti
Family: Berytidae

Berytinus species are characterised by the short 2nd antennal segment (less than the length of the club on the 1st segment) and by the short hind femora, which do not reach the apex of the corium.

In B. signoreti the club of the 1st antennal segment is  brown and much paler than the 4th segment. There is usually a small dark mark at the base of each vein in the wing membrane.

Found throughout much of Britain but rarer in the north
, frequenting sandy and chalky habitats. Adults overwinter, mating early in the spring; the new generation is complete from July onwards.
