Lamproplax picea

A
medium-sized species in which the upperside is dark brown and very
shiny. The front half of the pronotum is smooth, while the posterior
half densely punctured. The front femur bears two fine spines and the
4th antennal segment is rather pale, particularly towards the tip.
Known from England, Scotland
and Wales, but local in Sphagnum
bogs and rarely common.
Adult: All year
Length 4.0-5.0 mm
