Spilostethus pandurus
Family: Lygaeidae

A red and black species superficially similar to Corizus hyoscyami, but larger in size and with a white spot in the centre of the the wing membane and also at the base. The upper surface also lacks hairs.

Single adults have been recorded a number of times in Brtain, but the species has not yet been confirmed as breeding here. Most of these records presumably relate to natural immigrants or isolated introductions.

Adults and nymphs are highly polyphagous.
