scutellaris Family: Miridae A predatory Deraeocoris species which is entirely black, or entirely black except for the red scutellum. A scarce bug found locally across southern and central England where it can be found in a variety of habitats. These include heathland, chalk downland (where it is often associated with hazel and hawthorn) and herb-rich grassland. Adult: June-July Length 6-8 mm |
