Hoplomachus thunbergii

distinctive plant bug which should be unmistakeable. Note the pattern
of dark markings on the head and pronotum, as well as
the orange-brown forewings which have pale margins. The upper
surface is covered in dark hairs.
Found locally across much of southern Britain feeding on mouse-ear hawkweed growing in dry grassland habitats.
Adult: June-July
