Coranus subapterus Heath Assassin Bug
Family: Reduviidae

A greyish bristly bug found on open heathland and sand dunes; it is usually brachypterous although macropters do occur in the north. The 1st antennal segment is very long. Both nymphs and adults can stridulate loudly.

Distributed locally
throughout the UK, although absent from Ireland.
