Alebra albostriatella

A small genus of three UK species that typically show striking yellow stripes down the forewings.

A. albostriatella
is a common species found on oak across the UK. It is recognisable by the dark spots at the bases of the tibial spines (just visible at right) and by the often dark grey shading in the apical cells of the forewings.

Some females show much darker colouring, with dark patches on the forewings, scutellum, pronotum and vertex.

Adult: June to October
Length 3.5-4.5 mm
