Myrmecoris gracilis
Family: Miridae

A distinctive reddish-brown ant mimic with a very characteristic appearance. The bug is micropterous and the wings are white at the both the base and the apex. The pronotum is hourglass shaped and the base of the 3rd antennal segment is pale.

A rare species found very locally in sparsely-vegetated sandy areas of dry heathland in Surrey, Hampshire and Dorset, where it is associated with ants. Both adults and nymphs are predatory.
