| Chiloxanthus pilosus Family: Saldidae C. pilosus is recognised by the pale pronotal margins and the long, fine, erect dark hairs on the dorsal surface. The 2nd tarsal segment is approximately the same length as the 3rd and the wing menbrane has 5 cells. Favouring bare silty areas on the middle and lower zones of saltmarshes, this is a rare species confined to scattered parts of Suffolk, Norfolk, Lincolnshire and Kent on the eastern coast of England and Lancashire and Cumbria in the west.
