Grypotes puncticollis
Family: Cicadellidae

A locally common species usually found on pines or nearby trees in the southern half of England.

The brown-green form is the more typical, but specimens with a striking blue suffusion also occur (below right).

The sinuous line on the vertex, with two spots near the eyes, and the unusual markings on the
scutellum, are diagnostic. There are black spots on the tibiae and the ocelli are halfway between the eyes and the mideline of the face.
