Spanioneura
fonscolombii Family: Psyllidae A distinctive green psyllid with an elongate pointed forewing, and dark spots at the apices of four cells. The forewing cells are yellowish, especially near the veins, which themselves are yellow and/or green. Note also the dark tip to the orange antennae. This species is associated with Box, but is easily separated from Psylla buxi, the only other psyllid which specialises on this hostplant. Previously thought to be uncommon and restricted to southern England, it is now likely to be much more widespread. Adult: ? Length 3 mm |
