Chartoscirta elegantula Family: Saldidae This genus comprises three species which have very concave sides to the pronotum. The pronotum also has a transverse furrow across its entire width. C. elegantula is similar to C. cincta, but the wing membrane is shorter (less than half the length of the corium) and the upper surface is covered with long, erect pubescence. The sides of the pronotum are also sinuate. A scarce species of fens, estuaries and saltmarshes. Compare C. cocksii, C. cincta Adult: All year Length 3.0-4.0 mm |
